A male chick whose sire had the genotype B23/B24, and whose dam was B2/B2, reacted with the 3 typing reagents B2, B23 and B24. Subsequent breeding tests with this bird showed it to be a true recombinant (B23-24/B2). It transmitted an "allele" consisting of specificity-determining elements from both B23 and B24.
