Analysis of blood lipids i.e., triglycerides, cholesterol and lipoproteins was undertaken in patients with calcareous calculi. Lipoprotein electrophoresis gave an elevated .beta.-lipoprotein level with a corresponding increase in the .beta./.alpha. ratio. GLC studies of blood fatty acids revealed a significantly lowered linoleic acid level, together with some alterations in other saturated and mono unsaturated fatty acids in both serum and erythrocytes. The possible association of a lowered vitamin B6 status in these patients was discussed.
