The cell wall vaccine of Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv strain when inoculated i.v. in a dose of 300 .mu.g gave a high degree of protection (66.6%) to mice challenged with same strain of mycobacteria i.v. Cell wall vaccine when inoculated i.p. to mice did not afford any protection to i.v. challenge with M. tuberculosis H37Rv strain.
