An epizootic of swine influenza occurred among swine at the Taiwan Sugar Corporation, Chu-man, Taiwan in March and April, 1975. Farm employees were examined to determine whether virus transmission occurred from infected swine to humans and whether secondary human-to-human transmission was evident. Although there was evidence for virus transmission from swine to humans, antibody prevalences suggested that transmission occurred at a very low rate. No evidence of human-to-human virus transmission was found.
