An effective method of delivering beclomethasone dipropionate aerosol to children between 1-4 yr of age is to allow them to breathe from a special reservoir bottle. The apparatus consists of an inexpensive plastic reservoir, such as a 1.2-l vinegar bottle, with a one-way face mask attached to one end and the aerosol spray can to the other. To date 14 children with asthma ranging in age from 1-4 yr were treated for up to 19 mo. with excellent clinical results. All 14 had been treated previously with a variety of bronchodilators.
