Motor conduction velocities in 40 right and left -waves evoked at 2 different levels of a motor nerve. The latency difference between the M-waves could be read directly from the numerical display of the delay line unit. There was no significant difference between the means of the conduction velocity in the 2 groups. According to this finding the modified method gives also the velocity of the maximally conducting nerve fibers. The deviations from zero difference between the velocities of the right and left median nerves were statistically smaller in the modified group than in the group of the original method. Based on the fact that the conduction velocities are very similar in symmetrical nerves it was concluded that the modification has given in this material less methodological error than the original method.
