Transplantable spontaneous mammary adenocarcinoma -ethanesulfonic acid (HEPES) the cells maintained their transplantability and survived the killing effect of the immune spleen cells. In the presence of antitrypsin the cells became less transplantable and remained sensitive to the toxic effects of the immune spleen cells. When absorbed with adenocarcinoma antiserum, cells cultivated under standard cell culture conditions or in the presence of antitrypsin became less transplantable, whereas cells grown in cotton-stoppered glass bottles or in the presence of the extracellular protease maintained their transplantability.
