Construction characteristics of the vascular-capillary bed of the cortex of the visual analyzer were studied by impregnation with lead acetate. Angioarchitectural characteristics of the visual area of the cortex and age changes during different periods of life were analyzed in 50 human corpses (ages 1.5-40 yr). The cortical end of the visual analyzer was characterized by a dense small-looped and a highly differentiated capillary network. The visual area of the cortex takes part in analysis and synthesis of sensitive reception which requires a high blood supply. Varying degrees of blood supply were observed in all architectonic layers. The middle layer of the cortex had the richest capillary network.
