Phenological observations of A. maculipennis messeae Fallerioni, 1926 mosquitoes were carried out in the vicinities of Zagorsk (an experimental fish-breeding farm) [USSR]. The time of occurrence of seasonal phenomena in the life of mosquitoes were established. Larvae of all instars appeared 6-7 days earlier than the average many-year dates, and emergence of mosquitoes of the 1st generation occurred 13 days earlier. The first sporogony cycle could begin on May 18, and the period of possible malaria transmission could last 86 days (July 13-Oct. 7), which exceeds by 26 days the average many-year period of transmission.
