The results are presented of tests for resistance to 3 insecticides since 1960 on adults of 4 species of Aedes collected at Pancevacki Rit, a region of Yugoslavia where DDT was used to control mosquitoes until 1972 and malathion was used thereafter. Anopheles maculipennis Mg. was fairly tolerant of DDT, especially in the years when this compound was generally used. A. maculipennis, Aedes vexans (Mg.), A. sticticus (Mg.) and A. caspius (Pall.) were all highly susceptible to malathion, and Anopheles maculipennis was also highly susceptible to dieldrin.
