Biosynthetic ability of micrococci was studied during their growing on the mineral medium with n-alkanes under conditions of continuous cultivation. A comparison of the level of group B vitamins synthesis in different species and strains of micrococci with coefficient of medium dilution D = 0.4 h-1 showed that in the cell-medium system, the content of biotin, pyridoxin and vitamin B12 varies with widest ranges (0.64-11.0 .mu.g/g, 1.63-17.1 .mu.g/g and 0.1-2.16 .mu.g/g, respectively). Cells accumulate 5-12.4% of lipids and 48-59% of proteins. The most intensive growth, high content of lipids and active synthesis of protein and studied vitamins of group B are found in Micrococcus freudenreichii.
