The effect of air flow rate on deposition of inhalation aerosol particles in a modified Kirk Lung studied with 2 commercial products, [Medihaler-iso and Ventolin]. The amount deposited in the mouthpiece and throat regions decreases with increasing flow rate. The amount in the collector rises to maximum of approximately 50%. This material represents the portion therapeutically available to patients with respiratory disorders. Such an apparatus would be useful for routine quality control of the size distribution ratios for inhalation aerosol particles.
