Treatment of ankylostomiasis with levamisole

In Rwanda, levamisole was given to 74 patients with Ancylostoma duodenale in a single dose of 2.5 mg/kg body-weight and to 45 patients in 2 doses, 4 days apart. Examination one to 2 weeks later showed 47 and 31, respectively, to be cleared of eggs. Concomitant infection with Ascaris reduced the drug's efficacy.
