The symptoms of malaria are described from personal experience for the benefit of the medical practitioner in Canada. The importance of distinguishing falciparum malaria from other forms of malaria is emphasized. Infections may still occur in travellers to endemic areas despite chemoprophylaxis and semi-immune persons may occasionally become very ill.
