A variety of procedures using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were developed to estimate phenacetin, a commonly consumed analgesic, in all biological samples. The specificity and sensitivity achieved are excellent, and the procedures are relatively simple. Blood and urine samples from pentobarbital-anesthetized dogs to whom phenacetin was administered were used.
