The formal acceptance of rhinoplasty as a branch of rhinology has afforded a greater opportunity than ever before for the pooling of information. As a result, existing meth ods have been so improved, simplified and standardized that the rhinoplastic operation, previously a resource to only a small group, can now be carried out successfully by rhinologists trained in plastic surgery. We believe that sufficient experience has accumulated to justify certain generalizations hitherto never emphasized in the literature.
