In this survey an attempt has been made to document a profile of certain aspects of the work carried out by a general practitioner in Australia. This includes the type of practice, and especially the range and frequency of the procedures he carries out. It is realised that, as this survey was conducted in 1971, some of the facts may have become dated. However, a proportion of the information given is unobtainable elsewhere, and it is believed that through publishing the survey, interested readers may be prompted to seek additional information from the author.
