Tablets of ferrous fumarate 135 mg alone or with ascorbic acid, folic acid, vitamins B-6 and B-12, copper sulphate, sodium molybdate and manganese sulphate, were tested in 10 healthy persons given 2 tablets of each with an interval of 7 days. At 4 or 8 h after the dose, serum iron was significantly more with the vitamins than with ferrous fumarate alone. For 20 adult patients with known iron-deficiency anaemia, given 2 tablets twice a day, observed during 8 weeks of treatment, response was the same to either type of tablet.
