The Author, after an historical sign about the psychosurgery and the actual knowledges about the prefrontal lobe, exposes the various interpretative theories of the action mechanism, and relates the various operative techniques actually used, with the directions, the issues, and the critiques to such therapeutic practices. At last the A. describes the Fiamberti's method and relate on 216 interventions executed in the Psychiatric hospital of Feltre, with favourable issues inciting to a larger diffusion of L.P.T., and to an early application in the various mental diseases.
