A case of amaurosis in the course of preeclampsia and one in eclampsia are presented. Since in both cases conservative therapy failed, the cesarean section was applied in both cases. The infants were of low birth weight but developed well. Amaurosis in both patients disappeared a few days after delivery. In such cases the authors advocate liberal indications for cesarean section.
