Seven children with cystic fibrosis treated with the soya oil emulsion, Intralipid, by vein for at least a year showed improvement of at least one biochemical abnormality associated with the disease. Na in sweat decreased and, in 4 whose serum was examined, the concentration of essential fatty acids increased indicating that the treatment may partly correct an error of metabolism of prostaglandins present in the disease.
