The arthroscopic technique for chondrocyte transplantation avoids open surgery reducing surgical morbidity and operative time. No gold standard technique yet exists for cartilage repair because no long term study are available to confirm the reliability of different procedures. However, our technical evolution reducing the surgical morbidity will have a lower impact for the patient maintaining or possibly improving the efficacy of this cartilage procedure.
