Puss caterpillar sting in Arkansas

A case is reported of a sting by the larva of the moth Megalopyge opercularis (J.E. Smith) in an 80-year-old woman in Arkansas. The larva is covered with long fine silky hairs, and those in the fifth instar are considered the most noxious.
