The number of scoliotic patients is gradually increasing especially in the cases with the early curve. Females with idiopathic scoliosis were 4 times more common than males. Most of the cases with symptomatic scoliosis had basic lesions in the neuromuscular system. Of the 328 cases included, 66% had an early curve under 40.degree. There is a need to discover the deformity while it is in the early stages and to treat it effectively.
