Disseminated oesophagostomiasis in the rhesus monkey

Disseminated oesophagostomiasis was diagnosed at autopsy in 5 Macaca mulatta in the USA. Nodular lesions were seen in the visceral organs as well as in the colon and mesentery and in 2 monkeys these were in the liver, kidneys, abdominal wall, urinary bladder and uterus. In one of these 2 monkeys a lesion containing an Oesophagostomum sp. was also found in the lung. Ectopic nodules in the less severely affected monkeys were scattered in the liver, kidneys and abdominal wall. [AS].
