The effect of growth hormone on renin production and release by rat kidney slices

The addition of growth hormone (GH) to the in vitro solution interferes with the release of renin from the kidney slices and with the replacement of renin in the kidney. O2 consumption was also reduced when the slices were incubated in the presence of GH. The rate of conversion of prerenin into renin may be altered by GH.
