Study was of 102 infants aged initially up to 9 months, examined as far as possible every month to age 12 months. Tables give numbers of boys and girls and their mean bodyweight, height, mid-upper arm circumference and relations between measurements. There was a closer relation between bodyweight and arm circumference than between bodyweight and height. Combined effect of height and arm circumference on bodyweight was significantly greater than the simple correlation coefficients. Further first-order partial correlation analysis indicated that arm circumference was related more significantly to bodyweight than to height.
