Among 337 cases of zoophilic trichophytosis registered during 1961-72 in the Sal'yan district of the Azerbaijan SSR, 311 (92.3%) were caused by Trichophyton gypseum [T. mentagrophytes] and 26 (7.7%) by T. faviforme [T. verrucosum]. Only 7.4% of cases were considered to be occupational in character. It is concluded that the influence of occupation on the incidence of zoophilic trichophytosis is not very significant among cattle breeders of the Sal'yan district.
