Genital tracts from 11 intact rams were examined histologically for a possible storage site for spermatozoa. The ampulla, which is a muscular fusiform thickening of the terminal portion of the vas deferens, with a narrow irregular lumen surrounded by tubular glands, contained dense aggregates of spermatozoa. None were found in the vasa deferentia or vesicular glands. Similar findings were made in a ram vasectomized 3 months previously.
