Using the principle of Akanuma et al. (Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications (1970) 38, 947), insulin in ng to mu g amounts was extracted by affinity binding to anti-insulin globulins coupled to agarose beads. The method was applicable to urine and other biological fluids or extracts.
