Normal behaviour patterns and libido in chromatin-positive Klinefelter sheep

The behaviour patterns of 6 non-mosaic XXY Klinefelter rams of the Romney Marsh breed, studied in a closed-field maze, were similar to those of normal rams. Two tests, designed to compare the libido of 5 of the Klinefelter and 10 normal rams, showed that both groups of sheep displayed similar degrees of sex drive towards ewes in oestrus. The value of Klinefelter rams in work on comparative libido and on the influence of androgens on the libido of mature rams is discussed.
