Serological typing of E. coli recovered from the vagina of bitches with infertility problems and from the faeces of dogs with enteric disorders showed that the O25, O4 and O42 groups are frequent inhabitants of the vagina and the alimentary tract, suggesting that the latter might be the source of genital tract infections.
