Reports were received from 131 U.S. game biologists and veterinarians on the efficacy and safety of these compounds in 89 species. This paper presents a table showing the optimal dosages for 28 species. Side effects are also tabulated. Of 1600 animals tested, 2.9% died as a result of severe heat prostration, inhalation pneumonia, respiratory depression, severe excitement due to underdosing, cardiac arrest, or inapparent disease.
