In preliminary expts. to prevent gametogenesis of Plasmodium spp., human volunteers were injd. with an antigen made from Anopheles protein. The dose was 2 ml. of a 1% soln. injd. into the deltoid muscle and was repeated at 8-day intervals for 3-5 injns. The antigen was prepd. by grinding 1 gm. of Anopheles mosquitos in 100 ml. of dist. water and filtering through paper and then through a Berkefeld filter. Antibodies against Anopheles protein were built up, which so upset gametogenesis that the mosquitos did not become infected.
