So-called fibrous polyps of the anal canal represent the end stage of complicated, internal hemorrhoids, after thrombosis and organization. Indeed, features of hemorrhoids, characterized by dilated vascular spaces disposed in a smooth fibrous stroma, were found beneath the polyps in our patients. In our practice, such giant lesion has been exceptionally observed.
