Electron microscopy of ultrathin sections of lymph nodes and cultured leucocytes revealed virus particles (900-1200 a) in cattle with spontaneous and experimentally induced leucosis. Plasma from these animals was centrifuged in a potassium citrate linear gradient and showed a distinct peak in the 1.16 g/ml zone. Electron microscopy of the deposit from this zone revealed typical oncornaviruses.
