Previous studies on the phosphoglucomutase variants in Aedes aegypti (L.) showed the existence of an autosomal locus Pgm, on linkage group 2, with four codominant alleles, PgmA2, PgmA1, PgmB2 and PgmB1. In the present paper, the existence of a fifth Pgm allele, PgmB 1-2, is recorded. It was found in a strain from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The phenotype shows electrophoretic mobility intermediate between the mobilities of B1 and B2.
