This is not a species commonly seen in Falldand Islands waters, but this individual had attracted a great deal of attention as it had swum several miles inland up one of the best trout rivers in East Falkland. This was causing considerable consternation to keen fisherman, resulting in the threat that, if the leopard seal did not move out of its own volition, 'action' would be taken.
