The following forms are described from near Suva: Coelenterata: Astraea sp.* Mollusca: Turbo spp.*, Trochus sp.*, Arca (Scapharca) spp.*, Pecten (Chlamys) suvaensis*(p. 89), P (C.) thomasi*(p. 90), Lithophagasp.*, Chama sp.*, Cardium sp.*, Laevicardium sp.*, Dosinia? sp.*, Meiocardiaf sp.*, Antigona spp.*, Tellina suvaensis*(p. 92), Asaphis sp.*, Carcharodon megalodon Agassiz*. This fauna suggests a Tertiary age, probably late Miocene or early Pliocene. From the Tonga Islands the following molluscan species are listed: Cypraea sp.; Tridacna gigas Linne*; Codakia sp. (frag.) an. C.interrupta Lam. The fauna suggests a post-Tertiary age rather than an earlier.
