To evaluate the classification and treatment of mandibular condylar fracture in adults. One hundred and eight adults with mandibular condylar fracture were classified into different types, subsequent treatment methods were adopted based on types of fracture. More than 95% of the patients could recover normal occlusion, and the mouth opening reached over 37mm six months after treatment; no patients had permanent facial nerve palsy and ankylosis of the temporomandibular joint. Different treatment methods should be applied to different types of mandibular condylar fracture in adults, choosing appropriate treatment method according to the types of fracture is the key to success.
