The mechanism for programming, which is based on a systems approach and comprises the assessment of the major occupational risk (OR) factors, i.e. the prognostic probability of the frequency and severity of the workers' unfavorable reactions to adverse factors of the working environment and a working process, is the basis for a methodology for OR assessment. The proof category of the risk, its level, the number of workers engaged in this section, and the presence of the most vulnerable groups of workers should be kept in mind when managerial decisions to reduce OR and to choose priorities are taken.
