Among 69 patients with bronchopulmonary disease, 11 (1.7%) cases of nocardiosis were diagnosed. Diagnosis was based upon the repeated demonstration of Nocardia asteroides in clinical specimens, culture of the organism and favourable response of the patient to specific treatment. Salient clinical and laboratory findings in the 11 cases are given and 3 cases are described in detail. Treatment with sulphonamides and broad spectrum antibiotics was largely successful.
