In 1972 the physicians of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital participated in a weekly programme of continuing education aimed primarily at trained physicians. The development and implementation of the programme is described and the results of the year's experience have been assessed by questionnaire. This indicated that most physicians were satisfied with the programme. A high level of attendance and participation has been achieved.
