The compatibility of wild ungulates and domestic livestock in the Rift Valley in Kenya is being studied, including the relationship of rainfall and nutrition to reproductive performance. The 4 herbivores were sampled at 3-mth intervals to provide data on reproduction and meat yields. Adult males , and some males classed as immature, produced spermatozoa throughout the year and were probably capable of breeding at any time. The CR was related to rainfall, biomass of vegetation and crude protein.
