Skin cancer is the seventh most common cancer among Singaporean males and the eighth commonest cancer among Singaporean females. Skin cancer is becoming more common among Singaporeans. From the period of 1968 to 2002, the average percentage increase in the age standardised rates of skin cancer was 1.27 in males and 1.55 in female. Skin tumours frequently present as a "lump" or "mole" on the unsuspecting patient. Differentiating and diagnosing these lesions could also prove to be a daunting challenge to the clinician.
