The pH of a mixture of 1 ml urine and 20 ml water was adjusted generally to pH 7.5 to 8.5 and uric acid was estimated titrimetrically with ZrOCl2 solution and bromocresol green as indicator. For analysis of sediment 10 ml urine was first treated with alkali for 6 h.
