Helminth fauna of Neurergus strauchii (Steindachner, 1888) (spotted salamander) collected in Malatya and Bitlis

Forty-one (23 females, 18 males) Neurergus strauchii (spotted salamanders) collected in Malatya and Bitlis, Turkey were examined for helminths in 2001-02. One helminth species, Cosmocerca commutate (Nematoda), was found. This study is thought to be the first helminthological research on spotted salamanders in the world. Also, this is the first time a frog parasite has been reported in N. strauchii.
