Skin, soft-tissue and wound infections are usually caused by wound pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus and group A Streptococci (GAS), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, members of the Enterobacteriaceae, Enterococci, and other Streptococci families and anaerobic microbes such as Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides fragilis.
