The incidence of tophi in the single soft tissues, joints and bones and their characteristics are described. The indications for operative treatment are given and the operation technique of surgical treatment of topic gout is analyzed on toe basis of data in the literature and observations on two patients subjected to a total of 109 surgical treatments during the time-elapse of 24 and 7 years, respectively. Toe author points out the good effect of conservative and surgical therapy of tophic gout on the improvement of subjective complaints as well as on the objective signs of disease and its further - milder - progress.
