Of 90 Swiss Albino females injected with 5 IU each of PMSG and HCG, 36 mated and 32 conceived. Litter size ranged from 2 to 26 v 9 to 16 for controls. Offspring of hormone-injected females with litter sizes of 15-22 showed postaxial oligodactyly of the forelimb. One had forelimb dysmelia of the reduction type, 7 had abnormalities of the right forelimb, and 1 had aplasia of the left forelimb. The sex ratio was 1 male :1.82 females in treated animals v 1:0.96 in controls. 76% of 184 young from treated females survived for 1 h, and most died within 5 days. Those that lived to 23 days post partum survived thereafter.
